I spent 28 years working with my dad at his metal finishing business until his passing. It was there that I learned all about the industry, the process, mechanical equipment, repairs, you name it. I discovered how mechanically inclined I was and later started to contribute to discussions about the process and solutions to issues that would crop up. I took that basic knowledge home and started to perform repairs around my house and decided to become a licensed home inspector.
I actually enjoy maintaining my home, but so many homeowners do not realize their investment is a living thing that needs care, just like we do. Sellers install new granite counter tops, new wood-look flooring, new appliances and slap on a fresh coat of paint, hoping that buyers will be swayed by the shiny new chandeliers...and not notice the HVAC is old...the cast iron pipes...and that sloped floor in the bedroom, is not really the foundation failing . I want to help home buyers make smart decisions about their dream house....or walk away from it....knowing that I will help them find another one around the corner.
When I am not inspecting homes or working on home improvement projects, I play ice hockey, I play photographer and I play mom to my son, Nash.
